Kitchen SketchUp Design - Veneer

This week we attempted to finalise our kitchen design. We were second guessing the light blue joinery, as we didn’t feel like it was reflecting the essence that we wanted to capture within the apartment. We were originally planning to steer away from veneer as we thought it would feel too heavy in the space. Although, because we had decided to only do under bench joinery, we think the veneer will work.

We decided we are going to build the kitchen carcasses ourselves out of Kaboodle kitchens from Bunnings. We were planning on getting the doors custom made from Sydney Doors but they only do a polyurethane finish. So because we have now decided on veneer, we will need to find an alternative company that will do Polytec finish.

On Saturday we visited the Supa Centre at Moore Park for a browse. We weren’t ready to buy anything yet but we thought it’d be good to get out there and have a look around. I would love a velvet sofa but Drew hates the feeling and prefers leather.

We really love the Smeg Retro Style toaster and kettle. It comes in the most beautiful light blue colour which we thought would perfectly match the blue kitchen (if we decided to do it) but we think we’ll get it either way.

On Sunday we made the impulsive decision to go for a trip to The Good Guys. We ended up purchasing all our appliances (expect the fridge) and a Dyson!!

2 weeks until we get the keys!
